Last year we started seeing more braids in special occasion styling for prom and mostly weddings. Braids conjur up that youthful romantic feeling.
These styles work for outdoor, beach and indoor occasions. They are versatile and can be easily done at home. For some of the more intricate styles, check out a salon with wedding hair as part of their repertoire.
Here are few tips for doing them at home:
- If you don’t have very thick hair consider a set of clip in extensions. The new fibers in brands like Kesara, can also be heat styled and are lightweight.
- Creating a five-strand braid down the back of the head. Secure with a clear elastic.
- Fold the braid up into a chignon to hide ends and secure with hair pins.
- Finish with a light mist of luminous hairspray to secure in place.
